Wisdom is defined as a deep understanding and realization of something. Wisdom results in our ability to use judgements and actions that follow along with these understandings. Charles Spurgeon, a British Baptist preacher may have put it the simplest, “Wisdom is the right use of knowledge.”

Wisdom is something that we are all trying to gain in some form or another. We all tend to look to different sources for knowledge and wisdom, but we are constantly in search of it. Wisdom has been seen as an important trait of a person dating back to the ancient Greeks, and we even see evidence to the importance of wisdom in the Bible.

Personally one of the most powerful and meaningful statements on wisdom is found in Proverbs 8:11 “…wisdom is better than jewels.” In our daily lives we put a lot value on personal possessions and belongings, and this is basically stating the exact opposite. We need to know that having wisdom is worth more than almost anything else. Plus, as the saying goes “a wise man once said…”.

So to remind you of that I’ve made up this little typographic piece using Proverbs 8:11
